Meet the Conductor: Arie Lipsky

You've seen him from a distance conducting an entire orchestra. Meet him up close and personal. Let your students ask all those questions they've always wanted to ask a conductor. Does your arm ever get tired? What's your favorite instrument in the orchestra and what's your favorite instrument to play? How did you become a conductor?

In a 30-minute presentation, A²SO Music Director and professional cellist Arie Lipsky will meet with your entire school, grades attending the youth concert, or orchestra or band. He will:

• talk about and play his cello and flute for your students

• discuss what it is like to lead and prepare an orchestra

• teach simple conducting patterns and leadership skills

• guest conduct your middle or high school orchestra or band

Presentations are adaptable for all grades. Dates go quickly, so be sure to book early. Available dates for the 07-08 Season:
1. September 24-28
2. October 15-19
3. December 3-7
4. January 20-25
5. March 3, 5-7
6. April 14-18

Cost: $50, or $30 if your school attends the March Youth Concert
