Mainstage Dress Rehearsals

Bring your students to hear the A²SO at a Saturday dress rehearsal. In this new program for middle and high school orchestras, choirs and bands, students and chaperones are invited to listen and watch as the orchestra and Maestro Lipsky put the finishing touches on the program for the evening's concert. Students will learn how to rehearse as a group and the level of preparation needed to play in a professional symphony orchestra. They will witness the excitement of a final rehearsal with a guest soloist or chorus.

Each Saturday dress rehearsal begins at 10:30 am and ends at 1 pm. A 15-minute break takes place approximately half-way through the rehearsal. Students are invited to meet with the musicians during the break. Students must be in sixth grade through twelve grade to attend the rehearsal, and one adult chaperone is required per five students.

Notes:

• All rehearsals take place at the Michigan Theater or Hill Auditorium

• Students will be seated in the balcony or in a designated section on the main floorr.

• Rehearsals sound like concerts except where the conductor interrupts to repeat passages or to make corrections.

• Please refrain from talking, eating, drinking or clapping.

• Please turn off all cell phones, pagers, watch alarms, etc.

• The use of cameras, video cameras, cell phone cameras and all recording devices is strictly prohibited.

• If you need to leave early, we ask that you leave at the break.

• Dress Rehearsal Dates are always on the day of the concert.
