The UMS Choral Union and the Ann Arbor Symphony Orchestra present their annual performance of Handel’s Messiah on Saturday, December 6, 2008 at 8 p.m. and Sunday, December 7, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Ann Arbor’s Hill Auditorium (825 North University Avenue). Led by music director and conductor Jerry Blackstone, the ensembles will feature top-notch soloists.
UMS has been presenting The Messiah annually since 1879 in the beautiful surroundings of Hill Auditorium, and these performances are ultimately the heart of UMS, connecting audiences with the talented people on stage, and also connecting friends and family who attend each year. Jerry Blackstone will give a brief pre-concert lecture in the mezzanine lobby of Hill Auditorium one hour prior to each performance.
Tickets are not available through the Ann Arbor Symphony. For tickets or additional information, contact the University Musical Society at 734-764-2538 or online at www.ums.org. Tickets may also be purchased in person at the League Ticket Office (911 North University Avenue). The UMS Ticket Office is open: Monday-Friday 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., closed Sunday.
